The emoji movie
Tony Leondis
The Emoji Movie follows Gene(voiced by T.J. Miller), an emoji capable of making many faces. He sets out on a journey across the smartphone to become a normal emoji, along the way he meets two people. Hi-5 (voiced by James Corden) , a high five emoji rarely used anymore, and Jailbreak (voiced by Anna Faris) a princess emoji gone rogue and trying to escape to the cloud. During his adventure he causes interferences in the phone that causes the phones user to try to erase all data. (including the emojis from the smartphone) Gene then makes a multifaced emoji saving the smartphone, and learns that his differences are great.
The characters were all interesting and relatable and I felt emotionally attached to all of them. The plot was gripping and kept me interested the whole movie. The poop emoji was insanely funny and was a solid edition to the movie and not stupid. Overall 10/10 movie would recommend

Shrek
directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson
The movie follows Shrek(voiced by Mike Myers), a swamp-dwelling ogre.He is assisted by a talking donkey named... Donkey(voiced by Eddie Murphy). In order to reclaim Shrek's swamp (which has been transformed into a home for fairy tale creatures by Lord Farquaad, voiced by John Lithgow) must rescue Princess Fiona(voiced by Cameron Diaz). The two rescue the princess from her dragon infested castle and take her back to Lord Farquaad. In the process Shrek and Fiona fall in love and the cast eventually defeat Farquaad and Shrek gets his swamp back.
The characters were all interesting with the dynamic between Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona being great. The plot was simple but worked well, I didn't notice any plotholes in it. The comedy was also good, 9/10 still really good but not as good as Shrek 2
